Missing Girl Featured on Netflix’s ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ Found Safe After 6 Years

At the age of 9, Kayla Unbehaun disappeared in Illinois after her mom allegedly abducted her.

Six years after she was featured on a Netflix show called “Unsolved Mysteries,” she was found in the state of North Carolina.

She was found on May 13 after she and her mother were spotted at a local store.

Heather was initially arrested and charged with felony child abduction.

According to local media reports, she was released after posting a $250,000 bail.

Unbehaun was then reunited with her dad, Ryan Iserka, in Illinois. I am thrilled to see her back home safe.

I want to express my gratitude to the various agencies involved in the investigation and to the people who followed the #BringKaylaHome Facebook page.

In a statement, the family asked for privacy as they get to know each other and navigate through the new chapter in their lives.

At the time of Unbehaun’s disappearance, Iserkan had full custody of her. On July 5, 2017, she was supposed to be picked up by her father, but she didn’t show up.
