The victim, an electrician in his 40s, was shot in the doorway of a home on Bruce Street, just 30 minutes west of Sydney’s CBD.

Superintendent Simon Glasser told reporters that the home where the shooting occurred is well known to authorities, but the victim had no adverse holdings with police and no links to organised crime.
“It’s very early on in the investigation, however tragically that is a possibility that the wrong person has been shot by these offenders,” Glasser said. The investigation is ongoing, with police probing various underworld conflicts to determine the intended target.
