The lead singer of the heavy metal band Crazy Town, Shifty Shellshock, died on Monday at the age of 49.
According to the LA County medical examiner’s website, he died at a residence.
The cause of his death was not immediately clear. His real name was Seth Binzer.
Shellshock had previously opened up about his battle with addiction.
In 2000, Crazy Town’s song, “Butterfly,” hit the top spot on the charts.
Following his death, his fans paid tribute to him on the band’s Instagram page.
Shellshock was described as a kind and talented individual.
According to his friend, Aida Campos Sanchez, he was a very sweet guy who had demons that he could not overcome.
