During an episode of The Jordan B. Peterson Podcast, Musk revealed that his trans child, who was 20 years old at that time, is ‘dead to him’ due to her transition from male to female.
He said that he was tricked into supporting Wilson’s legal name change.
In an interview on Monday, Musk explained that he was tricked into signing papers for his older son, Xavier, who was undergoing a procedure that involved transitioning from male to female.
He was then told that Xavier might commitsuicide. The entrepreneur also said that he was not informed that puberty blockers were actually sterilization drugs.
During the interview, Musk explained that the term deadnaming was used to refer to his son’s death.
He said that it was because his son had transitioned from one gender to another.
Although there are no laws against the practice of posthumous naming, state and local legislatures have started to address the issue.
Before Musk took over Twitter, the platform had regarded deadnaming as a form of harassment.
It was then quietly changed in March, and it was reinstated after a few advertisers left the platform.
During the interview, Musk referred to his son’s death as a result of a “wakeup-the-mind virus.”
Despite Wilson not being dead, Peterson still shared his condolences. He also dismissed the issue of gender dysphoria as a symptom of a mental illness.
Peterson claimed that she transitioned because she was depressed.
According to experts, various factors can influence a person’s decision to transition, such as their genetics and prenatal hormone levels.
The APA also supports policies that provide gender-affirming care for individuals who do not identify as either male or female.
Former university professor and transphobic speaker Jordan B. Peterson has since left teaching and signed a deal with a conservative media outlet.
On her new podcast, she discussed her thoughts on gender transitions and how they have “demolished” kids.
According to her, research has shown that LGBTQ youths who experience high levels of rejection from their parents are more prone to committing suicide.
Musk agreed with Peterson’s views on gender-affirming care, and he noted that people who promote it should be sent to prison.
He also said that he had been promised to destroy the “wakeup-the-mind virus” following Wilson’s transition.
In December, the LGBTQ advocacy group, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), called out the entrepreneur for his anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and policies.
The organization additionally criticized the former university professor for misgendering Elliot Page, an actor.
