Missing 12-Year-Old Found Eight Weeks After Man She Met Online Picked Her Up

A missing Georgia girl who had been missing for over two months has been found with a man in Ohio.

According to Gerald Couch, the man, who was identified as Antonio Agustin, was apprehended in Tuscarawas County.

He is currently in custody and will be brought back to Georgia.

The girl, whose identity has not been disclosed, had been communicating online with Agustin for some time.

According to Couch, she was reportedly messaging with other men about her unhappiness at home and her desire to leave.

The sheriff’s office said Agustin picked up the girl at her residence in Gainesville on May 29.

The girl’s whereabouts were unknown until she contacted her father on Facebook last Friday.

She said she was fine but hadn’t been coming home.

After gaining access to her Facebook page’s IP address, investigators traced the device and phone number to a home in Ohio.

Four investigators from the sheriff’s office went to the Dover area after tracking the phone to a public pool, where they saw Agustin and the girl.

After following the pair to a shopping center, the law enforcers were able to recover the girl and apprehend Agustin.

Despite the technological advancements that have occurred in the field of technology, he noted that it can also be used to commit evil acts.

. Although a $50,000 reward was offered by the authorities for information about the girl’s whereabouts, Couch noted that the money was already pledged.

The community rallied together to help find the missing girl.

Groups held prayer meetings and distributed flyers in an effort to bring the girl back.

Details about the charges against Agustin were not disclosed by Couch.

The investigation is still ongoing.
