Reyes Moronta, who was a relief pitcher for the major leagues, died on July 28 due to a car accident in the Dominican Republic.
A source close to the player’s family confirmed the news to Mike Rodriguez, a baseball insider.

During his six seasons in the league, he appeared in over 200 games for the LA Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Los Angeles Angels.
He was released by his team last week and signed with a Mexican league team.
In a post on its website, the Bravos de Leon stated that they were deeply saddened by the loss of Moronta.
The team also wished Moronta’s friends and family with a quick resignation.
According to a baseball insider, Moronta was driving a four-wheeler when he was involved in a fatal accident.
Héctor Gmez shared a picture of the vehicle. He noted that Moronta was reportedly very close to one of his close friends.
The right-handed pitcher from the Dominican Republic appeared in 177 games during his career in the major leagues.
He had a record of 10-11 with a 3.05 ERA and finished his career with over 200 strikeouts.
