College Student Riley Strain’s Death Ruled ‘Accidental’

The body of Riley Strain, a college student from Missouri, was found in West Nashville on March 22.

He was last seen leaving a bar in downtown Nashville on March 19.

According to the medical examiner’s office, he died due to alcohol poisoning and drowning.

His body was discovered in the Cumberland River.

According to authorities, the 22-year-old student from Missouri was in town for a weekend when he was asked to leave a bar.

An autopsy carried out on the body revealed that he died due to drowning.

The police noted that the findings of the autopsy helped them classify his death as accidental.

According to the report, Strain’s blood alcohol level was at 0.228, which is over three times the legal limit.

The report also stated that Delta-9 THC, a cannabis compound, was found in his system.

The police noted that Strain had consumed several alcoholic drinks before he went missing.

He was observed to be impaired as he walked toward the Cumberland River on March 8.

Investigators stated that Strain was not familiar with the area he was walking in and fell into the river due to his lack of knowledge about the terrain.

The police noted that due to the recent rains, the river had a swift current that night. The police also extended their condolences to his family.

An autopsy report for Riley Strain was obtained by CNN affiliate WTVF.

The network reached out to his family’s attorney for comment.

The family requested for an independent autopsy to be carried out on their loved one following his death.
