During the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris, a drag queen performance depicted Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.”

Christians have criticized the event’s organizers for ridiculing religion. The scene showed a woman wearing a halo crown and a heart shape on her hands.

Beside her were child actors and drag queens. The scene culminated in a man wearing a sparkling blue dress and head covering.

The Paris Olympics Committee claimed that the performance was an interpretation of the Greek god Dionysus’ message about violence.

However, Christians noted that the organizers had created a satirical take on Jesus’ final meal before his crucifixion and betrayal.

August Pfluger, a Republican from Texas, said that it was “unacceptable” that a drag queen performance included a child.

Oli London, a transgender influencer, said that the Olympics mocks the Last Supper by dressing up women as Jesus’ disciples.

A French politician also criticized the event. Marion Maréchal, a member of the European Parliament, said that Christians around the world were insulted by the performance.

Elon Musk, the owner of X, criticized the performance, saying it was “extremely disrespectful” to Christians.

Other people on social media commended the performance, noting that the event was historic as three drag queens carried the Olympic torch during its journey to Paris.

  1. I am appalled at the French presentation for the Olympics. I’m literally never offended by anything but this particular event burns my ass!!!
