During an episode of her talk show Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith confessed that she had a relationship with her friend August Alsina while she was married to Will Smith.
The couple separated in April. Alsina claimed that they were in a relationship with the former’s permission.
During the show, Smith confirmed that she and Alsina had separated.
She also said that they took various steps in order to make their relationship more happy.
She then opened up about her affair with August, stating that it was a relationship.
However, she went on to say that Alsina’s claims about him having permission to talk about their affair were untrue.
Addressing the subject of media speculation, Jada stated that granting permission is the prerogative of herself, and that August’s claims about him being in a relationship with her without her husband’s approval were untrue.
She also noted that, as they were already separated, Alsina might have thought that granting permission was a concession to their separation.
He wanted to make it very clear that he’s not a home wrecker, Jada stated.
The couple’s candid talk show ended with them exchanging a fist bump after the segment had concluded.
During the episode, Smith said it was a miracle that he was able to speak to his wife.
They have been married since 1997. They first met on the set of “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”
