Authorities say that Justin Timberlake was apprehended and charged with driving while intoxicated on Long Island.
The incident reportedly happened around 4:30 am.
The prosecutor’s office for Suffolk County noted that the pop star was expected to be in court in Sag Harbor.
Located in the Hamptons, the village of Sag Harbor is about a hundred miles from New York City.
Timberlake is currently on tour and is scheduled to perform in Chicago this weekend.
He’ll then be in New York for a couple of shows next week.
The former member of the boy band NSYNC started his “The Forget Tomorrow” world tour in April in Vancouver, Canada, and it was his first time in the country since 2006.
Timberlake’s sixth studio album was entitled “Everything I Thought It Was.”
It was released on March 15.
