After spending over 200 days in a coma due to a motorcycle accident, 30-year-old Drew Kohn died in a car crash last week.
He had initially defied the odds by living through the ordeal. At the time of his injury, he was 22 years old.
Despite the doctors’ attempts to revive him, his condition continued to deteriorate.
His mother, Yolanda, remained steadfast in her determination to see him through.
The last time she saw him was when he woke up from his coma.
After spending several months in a coma, Kohn was able to tell his mother that he was fine.
Despite the progress he had made in his recovery, he was suddenly killed on July 26 when he was hit by a truck.
The incident occurred at around 5:30 am on Friday as Kohn was walking on the Collins Road in Jacksonville.
The truck’s driver immediately called 911 after seeing the accident. Kohn was declared dead at the scene due to his injuries.
His mother expressed her condolences and thanked the drivers for their efforts.
Yolanda stated that she was grateful for the time she had with her son, and that God had granted her request to spend more time with him.
She also reflected on the painful years she had endured due to her son’s injury.
She stated that Drew was now walking without any difficulties and that he was in a better place.
With his arm lifted high, he might say, “thank you, Jesus!”
He might carry a Bible in one hand and a football in the other.
