Mother Accused of Drowning 2 Toddler Girls at Home

Naomi Elkins, 27, of New Jersey, was charged with murder after her two children, one of whom was a baby, were found in a bathtub with stab wounds.

According to police, she was also carrying a weapon when she was arrested.

Officers were dispatched to the home of Naomi Elkins in Lakewood after receiving a report that her kids were in cardiac arrest.

Upon arrival, they found the two children unresponsive. They were later pronounced dead.

Elkins is facing multiple charges, including murder and weapons violations.

Public records show that Naomi Elkins, who is married and has a master’s degree, was being held without bail.

Her initial hearing is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. A detention hearing will then be held the following day.

According to NJ.com, there were no law enforcers at the scene when the children were found. The house was not surrounded by crime scene tape.
