A young mother-to-be and her unborn child lost their lives in tragic circumstances following a sudden illness.
Leah Roberts, from Cwmbran, Wales, was only five months into her pregnancy when she fell ill and never woke up.
Leah was only five months pregnant when she died. She was due to deliver a daughter named Leena-Rose, but the exact cause of her death is not known.
Her friend Becky Davies remembered her as a kind and caring individual. She also recalled how she fell ill and went to her grandparents’ home to get some rest.
After falling ill, Leah went back to her grandparents’ home. Her friend Becky noted that the next day, someone called her to check on her.
However, she didn’t wake up. She also stated that her grandfather tried to wake her up, but he was unable to do so.
According to Wales Online, her grandmother went into the house and started performing CPR after realizing that something was not right.
Martine Vaughan, Leah’s mother, was at the scene with the emergency services when the incident happened. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the emergency responders, Leah and her unborn child died.
In a tribute, Ms. Davies, who was close friends with Leah’s mother, described her as a selfless individual.
Although she didn’t have an easy life, she always wanted to be loved and be loved in return. She was also very excited about becoming a mother.
She used to take my kids out, and her brothers out. Even if she had a bad day, she would always ask whether or not they were okay.
She was described as a fun-loving individual who was known for her large heart and huge personality.
She also loved her family and was very close to her mother, Martine. According to her friend, Leah enjoyed going to the movies and listening to music with her father, James.
To help the family with the funeral expenses, a Gofundme page has been set up.
According to Ms. Davies, it was difficult losing both her daughter and her grandson at the same time, and she wanted to raise enough money to ensure that the family has a proper sendoff.
Since the page was set up, many people have shared their tributes for Leah and her unborn baby.
On the Gofundme page, one of the messages shared said that the world had failed her and her baby girl.
It also stated that she deserved to be loved and will be missed forever.
The family is waiting for the results of an autopsy to learn what caused her death.
They are preparing to say goodbye to both Leah and her baby.
