Actress Connie Chiume, who stared in the movies “Black Panther” and “War of the Worlds,” died on Tuesday at the age of 72.
According to her family, she passed away at a hospital in Johannesburg.

In a statement posted on her Instagram page, her family said they were “extremely saddened” by her death.
The Chiume family requested privacy as they mourn the loss of Connie.
She died on August 6, 2024, at Garden City Hospital.
Her son Nongelo said that his mother had been admitted to the facility for a medical procedure.
Nongelo stated that the actress was in good health until she suddenly died.
He said that the family was still trying to confirm the details of her death.
However, they would always be communicating with the public regarding updates.
When asked what he would like his mother remembered for, Nongelo stated that she would be remembered as an artist who gave her all.
The family wants her to be remembered as a selfless person who always believed in the potential of others.
The government of South Africa also paid tribute to the actress on its social media platform X.
It expressed its condolences to her friends and colleagues.
Chiume was born on June 5, 1952, in South Africa. She made her debut in the 2018 film “Black Panther.”
She reprised her role in the sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda forever.”
